This is my personal computer for use at the University of Waterloo.
It is a very zippy machine, significantly outperforming faster computers with the same video card in
3DMark2000. It is running Windows 2000, which, for the record, appears to be surprisingly stable (for
a Microsoft operating system). This computer was implicated in a screw-up by Dell, so I got a good
discount off the regular purchase price on it. See laura.
Around the beginning of September 2001, I gave this computer a significant upgrade. I moved the processor to a P3-1000, and doubled the memory for the second time. As bought, the machine was a P3-733 with 128 megs of RAM, and I got a second 128 meg DIMM when I was in China participating in the IOI 2000. The old processor & RAM went to laura. |
